Full-Stack Development for Teams in France

TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js — available across your morning, daily.

I'm Waseem Ahmad, a full-stack developer and AI engineer working with remote teams since 2022 — 55+ projects and a 100% Job Success score. For teams in France the collaboration is close to local: Pakistan is 3–4 hours ahead of CET, so I'm reachable across your morning and early afternoon, every day. Recent European work includes Continuity, an M&A marketplace for the Belgian SME market built with React, Supabase, and Claude AI.

Based in Pakistan (UTC+5), just 3–4 hours ahead of France — 5–6 hours of shared working time every day.

The challenge

Bringing an external developer into a French team can feel risky: distance, accountability, continuity. Everything I do is in clear written English, scoped before work starts, demonstrated weekly, and fully owned by you at the end — no lock-in, no dependency on me.

What I build

Full-Stack Web Applications

Next.js, React, and Node.js applications built end to end — from data model and API to a deployed, documented product.

Healthcare & HL7/FHIR Integration

Regulated healthcare systems, including an HL7 gateway that processes 10,000+ clinical messages a day from 200+ hospital monitors.

Fintech & Regulated Backends

Compliance-heavy backend engineering, including an SEC Reg CF crowdfunding platform shipped with 248 passing tests and zero production bugs.

AI Features & Integrations

LLM-powered product features, such as the Claude AI capabilities built into the Continuity M&A marketplace.

Frequently asked questions

How much overlap do you have with French working hours?
Pakistan (UTC+5) is 4 hours ahead of France in winter (CET) and 3 in summer (CEST). We share 5–6 working hours daily — your morning and early afternoon fall entirely within my working day, so discussions happen live, not across overnight delays.
Our afternoons run late. What happens once your working day has ended?
You keep going and I pick it up first thing — my morning starts hours before yours, so anything raised in your afternoon is usually answered before you are back at your desk. In practice the live part of the day is your morning block: if your team breaks for lunch around half past twelve, that break lands near the end of the overlap, so calls and reviews sit best before noon. One scheduling point worth naming plainly: I do not take August off. If your own team runs a reduced August, work continues through it and there is a written trail waiting when everyone returns. Every message gets a response within 24 hours.
How does a French company contract an independent developer in Pakistan?
Two routes. A direct services agreement — scope, milestones, and deliverables written down and signed before work begins, invoiced on completion — or a contract through Upwork, where escrow and payment protection sit with the platform, which is often simpler for a first engagement. I work as an independent contractor supplying services, never as an employee. If your legal team wants that independence set out explicitly, the agreement can state it: my own equipment and infrastructure, no fixed hours set by you, payment against defined deliverables rather than time worked. Whether that satisfies their own checks is their determination, not mine. Contracts and specifications are written in English; a French-language version for your files is yours to arrange.
Do you quote in euros, and how does payment work from France?
Quotes are issued in US dollars, and the starting figure noted below is a dollar figure. The euro amount depends on the rate the day you pay, so printing a EUR number here would put something in front of you that is wrong by the time you read it. The scope and the price are fixed in writing after the intro call and do not move mid-project. Payment is by bank transfer, Stripe, or through Upwork. If your accounts payable needs particular identifiers on the invoice — your SIRET, your TVA number, a purchase order reference — tell me and they go on it. Your own TVA treatment is worth confirming with your accountant, since it depends on your registration status rather than anything at my end.
How does an engagement start?
With a short intro call — 30 minutes to talk through what you're building and whether I'm the right fit. If we're aligned, you get a written, scoped proposal covering deliverables, architecture, and timeline. I respond to every enquiry within 24 hours.
How does communication work day to day?
Written updates as work progresses, a demo of working software every week, and async-first communication over email or Slack. You always know what was done, what's next, and what's blocking — without scheduling a meeting to find out.
How do contracts and invoicing work?
A straightforward services agreement with milestones, or a contract through Upwork if you prefer escrow and their payment protection. Payment by bank transfer, Stripe, or through Upwork.
Who owns the code and intellectual property?
You do. Full IP ownership transfers to you — source code, documentation, and infrastructure configuration. Repositories are set up under your organisation's control from the start wherever possible.
What does an engagement typically cost?
Most engagements start around $5K; smaller well-scoped work is considered case-by-case. After the intro call you get a fixed, written quote — no surprises mid-project.
